2024 Spring Run Off

Wonderful sunny sky and warm temperatures greeted 13 TOC juniors at the 2024 Spring Run Off. This event at High Park is like a home race where TOC juniors train here twice a week. The is also a tradition the club does every year with juniors in the 5K, masters in the 8k and also many TOC members, families and friends volunteering for the race.

The junior athletes delivered great results once again this year. Starting with T.F. finishing this hilly course in just 17:33.This is 5th in the competitive male 15-19 age group and is 12th overall. Then comes Kyle Leung in 18:53 beating last year’s time by almost a minute and ranked 1st in the male 14 & Under category. Fastest girl for the TOC, Brianna Lovshin completed in 20:05, bested last year’s result and placed 2nd in the Female 15-19 category.

C.C., first year with TOC, finished with a time of 20:13. A 5K PB for him. W.P., also first year with the club, grabbed 2nd place in the male 14 & under category in 20:20. Then it is Matthew Fast’s 20:33 time that is a whopping 3 minute and 7 seconds improvement over last year and put him in 4th place in the male 14 & under age group.

Back to the girls, B.D. finished in 22:15 to take 3rd in the Female 14 & under category. L.K. who just finished her first 15K at Around the Bay 2 weeks prior, did a 23:43 which is over a minute faster than 2023.
